I had total knee replacement last November. I was just finishing physical therapy and starting a daily walking regimen when the Scaleback teams were forming. Although I have not lost any pounds, I was motivated to eat less and exercise faithfully. I lost a size in pants because of this. My doctor says the muscles I am strengthening and building are weighing more than the fat I have lost. I feel better, and that is what is important to me. Now I am going to walk the 5K Joy to Life Walk for Breast Cancer this week. Thanks for the motivation. The weekly tips were informative and helped motivate me.

I am so excited to be a winner of a Scale Back Alabama individual prize, and to have lost the weight that I did. I am still working on eating healthy and trying to lose 15 more pounds. This has inspired me to work with others on eating healthy and trying to lose weight.
I started out about three years ago pushing 197 pounds. I lost over 20 pounds my first year (of Scale Back Alabama) and now I hover between 170 and 180 consistently, and some times in the summer I get as low as 160 with the soccer officiating, so this has definitely put me on a healthier lifestyle. I have been hitting the gym three to five days a week for almost a year now. I haven’t been this healthy since my 20s. In fact, the first year I was in this program I took a lot of cardio and jogging and since then I have not taken the daily asthma medicine that I was previously taking for over 30 years. So, once again, thank you for the program that keeps me so goal-oriented and on track.
I am continuing the healthy eating and exercise and have found the Scale Back program to be a great way to invigorate that focus of the last three years. I am very excited to have won $100! Awesome motivation for me to win prizes on top of the win you already get by losing weight.
